Logitech G510 Gaming Keyboard

In PC gaming one of the biggest components is your keyboard. Your keyboard and mouse are your instruments of destruction and you want to make sure your using them to their fullest potential. With so many choices out their how can we get the best bang for our buck well let’s break this down? The two most popular brands in gaming keyboards are Logitech and Razer. Both companies offer very good products but which is the better? But we’re talking about staying in budget here so already we are going to go with Logitech because of Razer’s marked up prices. The Logitech G510 keyboard fits this perfectly with a price of $99.99 on Newegg.com comparing to other keyboards such as the Razer Black widow for $139.99 and the Razer Marauder at $119.99. With a similar price range let’s explain why the Logitech g510 is the better choice.

The Good:
The G510 is a full keyboard with 18 programmable keys for convenient key binding.
The G510 features a 3.5mm fully intergraded audio which will give you the ability to plug in your headset with superior quality and sound. It also allows you to be able to use regular computer speakers as well because you can use motherboard audio for the speakers and the Keyboard.
It features a Monochrome Game Panel LCD that will have integrated profiles set up in its memory to show you various things such as in game information based on the game you are playing, time, computer performance, browser news feeds, and a stopwatch.
This Keyboard is also fully backlit and can be changed to any color you want it to be. A must have for the casual showoff.
A full Speed USB with a rated speed of 500 MHz will give you a 2 millisecond report rate allowing for instantaneous keyboard interaction so you won’t have to worry about any lag in the heat of the moment.
The Software is very easy to use allowing you to easily change the backlight color and program any key on this keyboard to perform any specific task you can imagine.

The Bad:
This Keyboard is not mechanical
This keyboard is wired with no wireless capability even though wired keyboards are faster and are always connected with no way for let’s say batteries to drain or loss of connection to ensue. If you’re someone who prefers wireless then this is something to consider.
There is no built in USB port feature. This was a major con for me because I wanted a convenient way to plug in my phone and flash drives.
This keyboard is very large due to the extra control buttons and programmable keys. So if you’re one of those people who doesn’t have much desk space or doesn’t like bulky things then this is also something to consider.
There is no way to adjust the brightness of the backlit feature.

The Verdict:
We compared the pros and cons of the G510. We found out that this keyboard has many features that suit the PC gamer. I personally own this Keyboard and a lot of other people I know do as well because it gets the job done in a sporty featured way that will make you enjoy playing for hours. For just $99.99 on Newegg.com this keyboard is the bang for your buck.
